Jesse Sisgold worked in the Los Angeles office of global law firm, Heller Ehrman LLP, from 2003 until 2008, before joining Valle Makoff LLP. While a junior lawyer at Heller, Los Angeles Magazine named Jesse a “Rising Star.”

Jesse’s practice focuses on corporate, intellectual property, and entertainment transactions and disputes, with an emphasis on finance and venture deals. Representative clients include:

  • Anomaly Productions
  • Ares Capital Management LLC & Ares Corporate Opportunities Fund
  • Capello Capital Corp.
  • Credit Suisse Securities LLC
  • Digital Artists Entertainment (Board of Director in Option Deal)
  • Home Box Office
  • Learning Corp. Productions

Jesse has negotiated a variety of corporate and entertainment transactions including purchase and buy-out agreements, talent, executive, and director agreements (with stock option plans), entity structuring, operating, and debt/equity finance agreements, and intellectual property sales and licenses. Jesse, as a former litigator in Heller’s business litigation group, focused his first six years of practice on resolving broken agreements. This background helps form Jesse’s forward-thinking approach to deal-making today.

Active in public interest matters, Jesse is the co-founder of ACLU Next, a Director on the Board for Angels at Risk, a non-profit organization offering substance abuse counseling to at-risk teenagers and their families, and a Director on the Board of SOL-LA, a non-profit music academy offering free musical training and concerts for children. While in law school, Jesse taught “Street Law” civics to low-income teenagers.

Jesse earned his J.D. cum laude in 2002 from University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he received the Legal Writing American Jurisprudence Award and Moot Court Best Oral Argument Honors. He received his B.A. in economics with provost honors and a minor in theater from University of California, San Diego in 1998.
